Vattuniemenkatu is a co-op building that consists of two buildings and 125 apartments. Buildings were built in 1974.
Due to the building's age its building equipment including all the plumbing, electrical and HVAC was in the end of their usage age and were in order to be replaced. During the renovation all the building's common areas were updated including all the hallways, spa area and common room. The technical pipes were installed in the corners of the half circular stairway back wall.
The casings of the technical pipes were made to look structural and through the entire height of the stairway was installed LED lighting to give much needed light to stairways.

In the apartments all kitchen and bathrooms were demoed all the way to its structural elements in the floor, walls and ceiling in order to install new technical components. During the renovation some of the apartment owners decided to do entire apartment renovation at the same time.
